ART staff performed redesign of the radioactive
liquid waste treatment system as detailed in the FSAR (Final Safety
Analysis Report). The four major liquid waste streams: i.e. equipment
drains, floor drains, chemical waste and decontamination solutions
were evaluated for three major treatment approaches - delay and
decay, dilute and disperse, and concentrate and contain. The treatment
options included tank storage, filtration, ion exchange, centrifugation
and evaporation.
ART staff provided the development, storage & use of
radiological data. Database included risk from stochastic (cancer,
genetic mutation etc) and non-stochastic (cataracts, nonmalignant
skin damage etc) events from various radiation sources/scenarios.
The project required using the Microsoft SQL Server with PowerBuilderTM
|
