HYDROGEOLOGIC ASSESSMENTS
ART personnel have conducted numerous hydrogeologic assessments
to facilitate development of conceptual models of groundwater flow systems.
And to provide the following scope of services:

- Comprehensive review of published local and regional information to
develop a conceptual model for the site, including estimated depth to
groundwater, groundwater flow direction and gradient, nearby surface
water features, local groundwater use such as nearby pumping wells,
recharge areas, and target geologic formation(s)
- Installation of piezometers, groundwater monitoring wells, and multiple
well casings in a single borehole to evaluate vertical gradients within
a complex saturated flow system
- Tracer studies to evaluate horizontal and vertical flow in aquifer
systems, and to evaluate potential interaction of surface water and
groundwater
- Groundwater sampling programs including low flow methods such as peristaltic
and bladder pump
- Aquifer testing programs such as slug and constant-rate tests to estimate
aquifer properties such as hydraulic conductivity, storativity, seepage
velocity, and contaminant migration rate.
