WATER RESOURCES
Water shortages often result from unabated use of developed supplies,
and/or forced abandonment of contaminated supplies. ART can
provide services in these matters through groundwater protection programs
and efficient water resource development. ART has assembled
a team of professionals with the capabilities and experience to provide
expert services in evaluating safe yield of reserves, finding new sources
of acceptable quality, developing and protecting surface and groundwater
supplies, designing and managing well fields to enhance yields, and projecting
future needs. ART typically provides the following services
for our clients for water resource related projects:
Groundwater
- Identification of the direction and rate of groundwater movement
- Aquifer evaluation including analysis of aquifer recharge/discharge
mechanisms and determination of aquifer yield
- Design of groundwater monitoring networks and water quality monitoring
- Development of groundwater supply, identification of local and regional
water use, basin studies, and evaluation of suitability of a water-resource
for potable use
- Testing and analysis of aquifers to define hydraulic properties such
as permeability, leakage, storage capacity, and safe yield
- Design and installation of production wells
- Analysis and implementation of subsurface injection programs
- Well permitting support and economic evaluation
Surface Water
- Analysis of groundwater/surface-water relationships and conjunctive
use evaluations
- Evaluation and simulation of circulation and flow in rivers and estuaries
and of sediment transport
- Identification of sediment deposition and impact zones
- Field data collection, water-quality and toxicity assessments, watershed
definition and evaluation, and stream flow measurements
ART is currently providing a wide range of
water resource services to county’s and water purveyors to effectively
manage their short and long term water resources needs. Services provided
include evaluation of recharge areas and water production capabilities,
development of long term groundwater monitoring and management plans,
evaluation of contaminant plume encroachment impacts to water supply systems,
evaluation of long term water supply impacts due to additional pumping,
stream depletion evaluations, and isotope studies for evaluating water
supply sources. |
