ART provides O&M services and training services to treatment system operators with the proper understanding of recommended operating techniques and procedures, and references necessary to efficiently operate and maintain the facilities. Operator training programs are implemented, and an O&M manual is prepared that includes description, operation and control of wastewater treatment and sludge handling facilities, sampling and laboratory analysis, records and reporting, maintenance, emergency operating and response program, safety and listing of utility providers.

In addition, to optimize the operation of the treatment facility, from time to time existing design is evaluated against changes in the waste streams treated, availability of new technologies and new regulations and laws. This life-cycle design approach assures not only facility compliance but reduction in cost of operation of the treatment systems.
